THE PERFECT NUTRITION BEFORE AND AFTER A DIVE
As divers it is important to keep our bodies fit and healthy. This allows us to comfortably carry heavy gear, flap through a strong current, or react to an unexpected stressful situation. This does not mean that we have to be extreme athletes, but a good basic level of health helps us to complete our dives successfully and safely.
Set a good foundation for your day of diving by starting the day with a proper and proper breakfast. A balanced combination of carbohydrates and proteins, such as yogurt with muesli or toasted bread with fresh cheese, is the perfect recipe to set a good foundation for your day.
You should maintain your body's energy levels by eating light foods between dives, such as fruit or carbohydrates. Avoid heavy meals at meal times, and give your body time to digest the food before the next dive. Always remember to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, especially if you are in a tropical dive location.
Once the dive is over, help your body regenerate with some foods rich in carbohydrates. If you go diving the next day, avoid excessive alcohol consumption the night before, as this will have a negative impact on the physical state of your body.
Remember: plenty of non-alcoholic fluids and the right foods that are high in nutrients and easy to digest lead to successful dives.
